AKRATIC WIZARDRY:
A blog wherein I scribble about role-playing games (Mythras, Against the Darkmaster, Dungeons & Dragons [esp. old school], Swords & Wizardry, Into the Unknown, Middle-earth Role-playing, Lord of the Rings Role-playing, Adventures in Middle-Earth, Crypts & Things, Call of Cthulhu, etc.) and RPG settings (Middle-earth, Cthulhu Mythos, Greyhawk, Lyonesse, Ukrasia, etc.).
I also write about fantasy and science-fiction films, novels, art, TV shows, and the like.

Prophylactic of Eldritch Power
It certainly worked throughout my teenage years!
(Unfortunately, I do not know where this comic is from, or who created it. If any reader knows, I'd be grateful for the information. Thanks!)
I liked it better with the final panel, mostly because you get what you think is the punch line ("Doh ho, nerds don't get any, what a joke this is") in the 3rd panel, and then get a quick reversal in the last ("Oh nevermind, his genitals were mutilated instead"). Nifty role reversal, although it's not especially funny in either version.
Haha, awesome! Worked all too well for me as well! Great stuff!
ReplyDeleteThe full comic is here, courtesy of the ever wonderful Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal:

Thanks Seppe!
DeleteHuh. I actually think the comic is funnier without the final panel (i.e., I prefer the version I posted to the original).
DeleteAgreed. The final panel is useless; or rather, it even renders the story less funny.
DeleteAnother vote for the four-panel version.
ReplyDeleteMy, that extra panel really does sap the funny...
