I think that 4e is quite complex from the get go. There are alot of choices for players which can be quite overwhelming. I am actually looking forward to the essentials line. This is what they should of launched in the begining. SImple easy to approach and affordable. The art also seem to have less of a World of WarCraft feel and more of a 3rd edition D&D look to it (except for that intro box set with a classic illustration ). I will likely stick to the essentials line, and keep it simple.Old Brutha Jakey D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/03705164647748469496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7600974191399728636.post-64696126275587084602010-04-17T22:34:50.629-04:002010-04-17T22:34:50.629-04:00I love how it's designed for ONE to 5 players....I love how it's designed for ONE to 5 players... o.0Matt Conlonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02616567498642991754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7600974191399728636.post-39683217845205732652010-02-03T02:54:08.605-05:002010-02-03T02:54:08.605-05:00Well it is interesting to see what WotC think will...Well it is interesting to see what WotC think will increase the market as they are one of the few RPG publishers big enough to get these out into the wider sales channels and to have done market research.

If it does bring in new gamers I'm all for it even though I've got no intention of playing 4e myself.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11587938750309743961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7600974191399728636.post-12553529760573792082010-01-31T22:25:02.160-05:002010-01-31T22:25:02.160-05:00Although I'm interested in the forthcoming box...Although I'm interested in the forthcoming box set, in an 'academic' sense, I doubt that its production is going to prompt me to play 4e. Many of us got into the hobby by picking up a starter set originally, where even 4th level characters were mythical in status because you had to buy another set to get to that level.
