Asimov holds up particularly badly for me, although Piers Anthony and Jack Chalker just leave me scratching my head and wondering what Younger Me ever saw in their work. And ye gods, don't even get me started on Donaldson.

And then there's the ones where I can't invoke Death of the Author hard enough to even look at. Marion Zimmer Bradley first and foremost, but David Eddings is off my read list as well.Dick McGeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14521293874696659063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7600974191399728636.post-63652933713491630992022-07-20T22:11:04.401-04:002022-07-20T22:11:04.401-04:00Thanks for the recommendation. For some reason I thought it was merely a "novelization" of the film. I didn't realize that Clark had co-written the screenplay with Kubrick. However, like Asimov (who I also read a lot of during high-school), I find Clark's style difficult to take now (or at least I did when I tried to reread something by him years ago). But perhaps I should give 2001 a shot nonetheless... Written concurrently with the film, it gives you a different perspective and is somewhat more enlightening.Baron Greystonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16636292202674906870noreply@blogger.com
